Alexander & Baldwin, Inc. has played a key role in the development of our community for more than a century. Founded in 1870 as a kama`aina company, A&B's business activities can be traced to its initial venture; growing sugarcane. A&B now owns 93,000 acres in Hawaii, and they continue to grow sugar to this day on 37,000 acres on Maui. Growing coffee on 3,500 acres on Kauai was their next successful mission. A&B Properties, Inc. develops real property, primarily in Hawaii, sells residential and commercial property, and manages a portfolio of commercial/industrial properties. Additionally, A&B holds a portfolio of investment properties in Hawaii and on the mainland.
